    Ready to Keg?

Thanks for all the feedback! It's been leveling out at 1.010, so I'll probably keg tomorrow and sample on Sunday This is my first SMaSH with a recipe to get a quick beer in the keg (i.e. low OG and a double pitch of US-05 yeast).

    Ready to Keg?

I brewed a SMASH on Sunday in hopes of having it ready to drink tomorrow night. The OG is 1.054 (was supposed to be 1.050) and the Tilt hydrometer is reading 1.010 now. My recipe is here: https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/906377/smash-el-dorado Is this ready to keg? Thanks

    Very fast fermentation for Kölsch!

Yeah, I'm not sure why my numbers are so far off. I make sure to get a gravity reading at the temperature that my hydrometer is calibrated for.

    Very fast fermentation for Kölsch!

Thanks for the feedback, looks like I'll be making sure to do a good yeast starter on all of my brews going forward! I'm fermenting at 60F as it's a Kölsch. Yeah, I'm not quite sure what's up with my pre and post boil gravities. I made sure to cool the samples down to what my hydrometer is...

    Very fast fermentation for Kölsch!

This is my second BIAB brew (have been doing extract before this) and I'm getting a really fast fermentation on the Kölsch I made on Sunday. Brew session info: https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/brewsession/302983 The fermentation graph starts recording at ~9PM on Sunday, but I technically...

    Strawberry Kolsch feedback

I've been wanting to make a kolsch with strawberries for a while. I've got a empty keg, so it's time to brew! I've got a bunch of fresh local strawberries in the freezer that are ready for this brew. I've done 5.5 lbs of blackberries in a wheat, so I'm going with that same amount of...

    Feedback on Bohemian Pilsner

Thanks for the feedback, I'll look at the Weyermann Barke Pilsner. I've thought about adding something in there like Munich/Vienna for color, but I think I'm going to keep things simple the first time around and just go with Pilsner and Carafoam.

    Feedback on Bohemian Pilsner

Alright, I've updated the recipe to remove the Munich and just have Pilsner and Carafoam. Got my water volume correct (hopefully) and updated my water additions based on the new water volume. One last question, should I drop in some whirlfloc at the last 15 minutes of the boil?

    Feedback on Bohemian Pilsner

Thanks for the feedback! I may remove the Munich and just go with Pilsner and Carafoam. What temps do you ferment at (and how long)? I'm thinking about 50F and a diacetyl rest at the end. Rack to a keg and keep it at 34F for 2-3 weeks (or until I get impatient and want to drink it!). Thanks...

    Feedback on Bohemian Pilsner

Thanks for the feedback! On the 90 minute mash, that seems to be what BIAB'ers do to get better efficiency. This will be my first BIAB, so I'll try 90 minutes and see how it all turns out. My LHBS carries leaf hops, so I'll pick up some Saaz if they have it. Regarding the use of Munich, it...

    Feedback on Bohemian Pilsner

This is my first BIAB and first time creating my own recipe. Now that summer is almost here, I'm wanting to brew a good bohemian (Czech or German) pilsner. I'm going for a full volume BIAB. https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/831054/pilsner2 I'd like feedback on the grains...
