I still did a starter so I can take 25-30% of it for the next batch before I pitch the rest. I like this method better than washing yeast after fermentation.

The tilt was removed from the beer today since I kegged it up. As it turns out the battery was low as Donoroto said a few days back. It went dead quickly as two weeks ago I had a good battery light when it was dropped in. Anyway, it is nice to get it resolved. Now to the calibration of the unit.

Looking forward to the android app. Scrolling the brew steps on an android is painful. You have to use the sides which is not easy, at least on my pixel. An extra would be to connect to Bluetooth for the grainfather and other Bluetooth devices such as the tilt. Keep up the good work!

I have not put a new battery in this unit since I've had it. However the light was blue before i put it in this brew, almost two weeks ago. We are still going back and fourth. There latest was I had set the tilt pi using the same log with the black, orange and green tilt. I couldn't find out...

If you are purchasing from LHBS then they will sell you exactly what you need and you won't need to worry about it. However if your ordering from an online store then they usually sell 1lb increments. In that case, I would have them mill it and wrap the leftover amount in plastic wrap, ziplock...

I just use a colander with fine holes (trying not to disturb the bed) and try to keep 1/2" - 1" of liquid above the grain. I open or close the valve on the HLT to compensate. I don't have a specific time requirement because depending upon how fine you have milled your grains depends on how...

I use either Coro Coro (chocolate rum) or Veil Chocolate vodka for soaking vanilla beans, cinnamon chips, and cocoa nibs for a few days before dumping into secondary. If I had to pick one I would go for the rum.

You'll be fine. I just had s0-04 go up to 70F overnight also. Got it back down to 66 the next morning and it just kept going. You've nothing to worry about!
