    Low Carb Beer Brewing

Yes, Fat loss. I normally do a HFLC (High Fat Low Carb) Ketogenic diet where the carbohydrates are the culprit. Although the alcohol (being a carbohydrate) will stop you from burning fat, as fuel, it does not take you out of Ketosis for more than it takes to burn the alcohol off. Alcohol is...

    Low Carb Beer Brewing

I did find the following calculator that will provide the carbohydrate content... http://www.mrgoodbeer.com/carb-cal.shtml Although it would be good to know what the formula for the calculation is...

    Low Carb Beer Brewing

I did a search, on the site, and didn't find anything concerning this. I actually thought this would be a subject others have already discussed.... But... I'm starting a LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) diet and usually switch to Vodka when I'm on the diet but I honestly get a more enjoyable buzz when...

    How long for conditioning?

LOL, that is funny... I'm afraid it will be true, but funny, but funny just the same. Thanks!

    How long for conditioning?

Hello everyone! I recently brewed a Chocolate Oatmeal Stout, left it in the primary fermenter for 2 weeks, and then put it in the keg. We tried it a few days later. The beer is/was about 7.5% ABV and was decent... except for a strong aftertaste which I have associated with beers with higher...

Fermentation seems to have ended... early. What now?

I certainly did take the hydro-reading before I pitched the yeast. The original reading was 1.070 and the reading I took today was near the expected gravity at 1.024. Thanks,

Fermentation seems to have ended... early. What now?

Fermentation seems to have ended... early. What now?

Well, I did take a reading... before getting your message. The beer is near it's final gravity. Currently 1.024 but expected is 1.020. I can't tell if the yeast is dropping or not. The beer is extremely dark and I can't see a light shine through it at all. I happened to go ahead and taste...

Fermentation seems to have ended... early. What now?

I haven't started taking Hydrometer Readings yet thinking that I had another 11 days of fermenting to wait on... I'll take one to see if it is close to the expected Final reading. Thanks,

Fermentation seems to have ended... early. What now?

I brewed a stout on Saturday 3/4/2017. The initial fermentation was very active. But now the fermentation seems to have ended. How do I tell if it has ended after only 4 days? What do I do if it indeed did end this early?
