I am getting ready to make a Blue Moon Clone called, Orange Coriander Wheat Beer 4 Gal,
https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/edit/1569158
It's a 4 Gallon (15 L) to the fermenter batch
I don't know how much Citra to add for flavor and aroma.
I am using 1 oz. (28 g.) crushed coriander and 1 oz. (28 g.) sweet orange peel both added to the last 5 min of the boil followed by a cooling whirlpool.
I'm thinking this may be all I need for flavor and aroma and don't need any hop additions other than the 60 minute boil hop addition.
What has your experience been?

Hi Sandy, I'm not going for a Wit. This is just a wheat beer that may be like Blue Moon.
Bending the rules a bit here. I really don't want clove flavors either.

I don't think that Citra is a hop that you would use in a Blue Moon clone.
Nelson Sauvin, or maybe Hallertauer Mittelfrueh would be more suitable.

Nectaron or Mandarina Bavaria might also be good choices. I'd avoid Citra on this one at it will throw too much Grapefruit.

Please use a mild old-school hop for this style, not Citra. You only need about 1/2 oz to 1 oz of a low alpha acid hop to add for bittering, with no flavor or aroma late additions.

If you want to experiment, you could try a flameout addition of Mosaic, but I wouldn't go too crazy with that style.

OK everyone has convinced me I will see if my LBS has Hallertauer Mittelfrueh for my first attempt. I already have 1 oz. of sweet orange peel and coriander seeds. For 4 Gal. (15 L) how much of each should I use? I'm thinking close to 1 oz. of each around the last 10 min. of boil.

I am no expert, nor have I ever used orange peel or coriander, but I’m thinking that an ounce of each is not excessive. You should taste it but it won’t overwhelm.

Wait for others to comment though.

Well it all depends how fresh you're coriander is. Some of the stuff you get into the grocery store is not very flavorful same with your peel. Dry your own fruit. I tried growing my own coriander with limited success. And yes Blue Moon is a Witbier or a Coors version anyway

Half ounce of each is plenty for 4 gallons. Or maybe 3/4 oz. Full ounce might be a bit strong.
