Elvis was calling lol
Looks yummy, what chilis did you use on the asparagus?
I found a chicken, Thai, crockpot version of the soup that I also like
That looks good.As we go into 2 days of almost straight rain in Southern California (haha!) I decided to make a hearty split pea soup. Had extra bacon to use up and found a different recipe than what I follow that uses bacon to create the fat to saute the veggies and provide a topping to the soup. Delicious and the Mrs. Loved it too.View attachment 33540
Thanks! I don't typically use bacon in my split pea soup but I had some on hand that I needed to use up. I would add beans (black or white) and use butter in addition to olive oil for more protein, maybe even use bone broth? That looks good.
I know with Sunfire's Pumpkin, I found a way with a Thai recipe to put some more protein in it to make it more like a stew.
I wonder if there is a way to do that with yours outside of the bacon? It is just me, so I have to eat on everything for a few days, or it is a waste of money. I did find a way to get around buying most things from Publix, which is stupid expensive, but nothing is cheap anymore.
Get a ham hock or two, they are inexpensive and add a ton of flavorThat looks good.
