Quick Water Requirements
Water Gallons  Quarts
WARNING: Boil kettle capacity (12 gal | 48 qt) exceeded. Volume required: 22.1 gal (88.4 qt). Suggest reducing initial water volume to 11.22 gal (44.89 qt) and adding 10.1 gal (40.4 qt) sparge/top-off.
Boil water added to kettle (equipment estimates 19.63 g | 78.5 qt) 8.3 33.2
Volume increase from sugar/extract (early additions) 1.7 6.8
Pre boil volume (equipment estimates 21.32 g | 85.3 qt) 10 40
Volume increase from sugar/extract (late additions) 0.78 3.1
Boil off losses -1.5 -6
Hops absorption losses (first wort, boil, aroma) -0.6 -2.4
Post boil volume 20 80
Going into fermentor 20 80
WARNING: Kettle losses > 2% detected which throw off OG calculation for extract/partial mash recipes in batch target 'fermentor' mode. Solution: Reduce kettle losses, misc losses and hops absorption in equipment profile, OR set batch target to 'kettle' and do a full wort boil. See batch target FAQ.

Notes

Witty Berry Braggot is a sweet, dry, earthy, almost cheesy brew. More drinkable than mead, dryer than ale, strong as a wine.

It is great as a not-so-sweet dessert wine to enjoy with a piece of cheesecake or chocolate, a nice smooth tumbler on the rocks to sip and relax with, or mixed with juice and seltzer for a light party drink.

The dryness of the wheat, mildness of the barley, and tartness of the cranberry all come together to balance the mead must well, making this one of the most drinkable varieties of mead I've ever had.
