I got drunk today on my home brew, I cant believe the difference between commercial beers and home brew, I'm guessing that pasteurizing kills some alcohol because three home brews and I'm done vs 6 commercial beers wow

I brewed today, I had two beers ready to brew and picked the Brown Ale just because it’s going to need some aging, lots of flavor, everything went flawless,

I can’t double brew on my system or I would have, just a tip when using electric your stuck with the amps your pulling so in my case I can only pull 32 amps not enough for a double brew I would need 46 amps,

I even saved more yeast starter wort, boiled down second running’s in half and ended up with 2 gallons of good wort that I freeze, I think I have about 7 - 2000L bags now I better stop lol

I did top crop 8 test tubes full of pure yeast last brew, doing the same tomorrow, too tired to do the same clean and transfers today, it’ll wait

I ordered my malt stock, now that I bought a mill.
1 each 55 lb Weyermanns barke pilsner
1 each 55 lb weyermanns barke vienna
1 each 20 lb weyermanns carahell
1 each 20 lb weyermanns caramunich ll

This is for starters since all im brewing to build up my 2018 supply is my house helles.

All I'm brewing in March 2018 is of course Oktoberfest (to be lagered until you guessed it, Oktoberfest)

April 2018 is going to be Kolsch. After I return from vacation.

I'm going to put serious thought into upgrading to a bigger system in may of 2018, I'm thinking half bbl should do but will probably just go 1 bbl.

Going to get my c02 bottle refilled. It's Sunday here so I'm p crossing my fingers that one of the homebrew stores are open on Sunday. I've got visitors later today and would love a bit of co2 to help push the beer out:).

That leads me to an interesting question how often do your refill your co2 bottles?
    How long in between refills?

It's been about a year since my last refill.

I think my 5 pound tank lasts between 2-3 months. I force carb, but I don’t purge air out of vessels before racking.

6 months of purging, force carbing, carbing and serving, and eight or nine 5 gallon batches.
