Brew day is compromised I repeat BREWDAY is COMPROMISED!!
    20191007_081314.jpg
Main element line is down! It bloody caught FIRE and then started making that welding noise and nearly caught my kettle insulation blanket on fire:eek::eek::eek::D:p!

When I woke I hit the switch to fire my kettle up and went and made brekkie come back temp us 22c:confused: no cigar on the main element line. I plugged the back up in it fired straight away. Ok so no electrical fault. I remember last brew that main element wasn't firing well.

Man i wiggled the connection knowing it was a dodgy connection and man I musta been close to getting a boot cause soon as I let.the cable go it burst into flames :eek:o_O.

So brew day is compromised I got to get to jerry rigging this element in.

Oh no! Please no “Jerry rigging”! Make sure it’s done correctly... I enjoy seeing those poolside cold brew photos.

Transferred our Iron Brewer beer for cold conditioning - will package in two weeks, then judging on Oct. 24th. I think we have a shot - what we got was a cranberry ESB, tart, nice cranberry flavors, almost no banana, the goldberries are wrapped into the cranberry flavor. If you haven't used the Amoretti purees for beers, I recommend it. They're pricey but IMHO worth it. Three ounces in 5.5 gallons of beer was enough. Bottled my Altbier - it's bitter but good! I did an audible while buying ingredients and got an extra ounce of Carafa 1, shouldn't have. Gave it a touch of roastiness that isn't quite to style. Should be good when carbed.

    Dodgy brothers!!
    240V mains doesn't tickle mate .

After a break from brewing I'm surprised everything went so smoothly.
    Hit every temp rest
    Hit my pH
Hit my gravity within a point but somehow ended up with an extra 1.5 litres so maybe I'll bottle correct amount after yeast decide to spit some out the blow off tube

Nice @Trialben! I need to purchase at least one more keg to start capturing all the o2 from fermentation and using it for transfers.

Pushing the sanitiser out by attaching a keg to the fermenter is a real eye opener to how much gas is being released during fermentation.

Just double Czeched my CO2 lines. Everything looks good. 5 Gallons each of Dirty Boh and Sticky Blonde. Hopefully one of them will be somewhat drinkable before those last 4 bottles of Cluster Ale run out. Hate to have to actually drink that Busch Light.

Heaps I recon could of done that four times over with the amount of gas coming out. My recieving keg acted as an oversized airlock and in could hear the gurgling every time the fermenter burped.

Got to get some competition entries together and over to the Brew Hut. And drink some craft beer while there.

I should try this sometime, I have enough kegs. So what do you do to put the CO2 back? Or what are you acheiving with this?

Just putting the reciving keg of o2 so when it's time to do transfer beer is fresher hopefully for longer. One way of using that spent co2 from fermentation.

Id actually been thinking about doing this for a while now but havnt had the tools to do it and seeing brulosophy doing it it gave me a bit of assurance. Plus they took it one step further by filling the recieving keg with phosphoric acid and using fermentation to push it into next vessel.

So it means you need 2 spare cronies every time you want to do it. One recieving beer and one reciving phosphoric acid.

Just registered Sticky Blonde and Dirty Bohemian for the Badger Brewoff. Both really still works in progress, but what the hell.
