I was studying brew kettles to see if I could justify one with a scale and a dip tube, really the only features that I wanted on my generic kettle. I decided to try two projects this morning from internet searches to "upgrade" my kettle. The only purchase I made was some lemon juice to passivate the etch and the elbow for the dip tube. As an added bonus, the lemon juice cleaned all of the scorching on the kettle bottom. I think I will make an Octoberfest tonight after work

Neat solution. What would you do the etching with?
