I'll start with I'm fairly new at using water additions...
I'm trying to raise my HCO (Bicarbonate), with using Ca(OH)2 Slaked Lime or Pickling Lime. When I add the lime to the calculator it is subtracting, not adding like I thought it would. Keep in mind I have nothing checked in the Boiling & Lime Softening portion of the calculator. In fact, the middle section titled Precipitate CaCO3 even has a blurb saying "When not set, slaked lime will increase alkalinity, which may also be the intent."
Am I just misunderstanding something or is the formula that is supposed to be adding, simply subtracting?
