So it just occurred to me as I was opening my chest freezer/fermentation chamber that there may be a wave function collapse event going on in there when I open the lid. My fermentation is both going and stuck until I open the lid at which point some poor bastard in another universe is observing the opposite.

So some of the posts about stuck fermentations may be from another universe according to the many worlds theory.

Maybe I could do a brulosophy egg-speriment to figure this out.

;)

Well, when you collapse the wave function, is the yeast dead or alive? And does each of the yeast's state spawn a brand new universe, adding to the already infinite number of them existing? The problem is the probability is not 50%! In my brew house, I've had two stuck batches over several hundred, so somewhere in the multiverse there's a real loser of a brewer, entangled with me so that every time I succeed, he screws up. He can't win, He can't tie, and he can't quit. Ah, the cruelties of the multiverse!
