I’m fascinated by the idea.
It's a way of concentrating the heat from the wood fire. I don't see any advantage to this over a propane burner other than perhaps wind resistance. I do see the disadvantage of smoke from the wood fire. Since I use electricity indoors, not a factor for me.
Yeah I don't see this as being efficient or clean. just interesting. Something to add EVEN MORE fun to the Brew day
