Recipie search, search by ingredients

Would it possible to have an advanced search option where you could select ( by tick box or text field) a number of ingredients and recipies with those ingredients would be found. This could then be used to search for recipies using your own stock. What do you think?

I was thinking about the same thing the other day and wondered whether we should ask for it to be included.

Question, are you thinking of searching just your own recipes, or the public recipe database, or both?

Right now, whatever is entered in the Text Search box on the recipe search page searches across all the recipe ingredient names, the recipe title, notes, water notes, and style name.

I can see how it would be useful to find recipes with two different types of hops, or a particular hop, and a particular grain. I also agree this should be an expanding section that is ordinarily out of sight.

The idea of displaying recipes you can brew, based on inspecting your inventory is another take on this.

BeerAlchemy Touch (http://www.beeralchemyapp.com/beeralchemytouch.shtml) for the iPad has a feature called Suggest-A-Beer that "Suggests brews you can make with what you have to hand." I wasnt a big fan of the app itself (much prefer Brewer's Friend, just give me a standalone iOS app!) but the Suggest-A-Beer was a neat feature.

that does sound wonderful. I usually have some hops or some washed yeast I'd love to use up.
