I am transitioning to a new brew set up in which I will be using metric measurements full time. I created a new equipment profile to use during the transition. The issue I am finding is with the hop absorption rates. They are absurdly high. I have gone through the settings respeatedly and I keep coming up with the same issues.

My global measurement settings are set to metric.

My hop absorption rate is set to 0.004 L/g

My losses due to hop absorption are not equivalent to when all the above are set to non-metric values. 2.4L is just crazy for 24g of hops. Other test recipes show the same issue. Up to more than 6L losses for some of my IPAs.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Well, to follow up on this, it seems this is only an issue on existing recipes. If I take an existing recipe and use the drop down menu to convert it to metric, then save it. I end up with weird hop absorption rates. If I just create a new recipe with identical measurements to the converted recipe the absorption rates turn out normal.

It is more work this way, certainly less convenient, but at least I’ve got things working.
