Hi,
Wanted to say nice work to Larry and the other people who created and are still improving this site. I found the site because it is the only one I know of that has a yeast starter calculator that can be used on iPad (vs http://www.MrMalty.com or http://www.Yeastcalc.com). Then the first time I went to use it I noticed it was using yeast calculation data from http://www.Braukaiser.com and I knew this site was onto something. I started using other areas of the site and discovered that Kaiser's work is integrated into other areas as well. This is awesome because I have been using his spreadsheets to check my mash calculations and efficiency numbers and found them to be accurate and useful.
The whole site works well on my iPad and it is nice to be able to access all aspects of my brewing data from any device. Makes it easy to work on a recipe on my computer at work or check my recipe/inventory from the LHBS on my phone.
I just became a paying member and migrated all of my recipes from BeerSmith. So far I have found that Brewer's Friend offers all of the information I need for my brewing without the clunky interface of having to adjust several things to change one variable. I have only used the site for one brewday (two brews), but I already know it is my brewing software of choice.
I also want to compliment you on the feature request forum. When I first tried the site there were some features I felt were missing (water requirements), then I looked at the forum and saw that they were already suggested by other members and in process of being added. Within a few weeks the site had been updated and my concerns were answered. It is nice to use a program that is so responsive and moving quickly to added new features.
Thanks for providing a great product. I look forward to using it more and hopefully contributing in the forum.
