Going to do a small batch of a 1936 Mackeson stout tomorrow. Did one previously and used MJ Empire yeast and was dissapointed that it didn't get me to my desired FG although taste wise it was pretty spot on for a Mackeson.Using Gervin this time.
5 litre batch- dunk sparge -60 min mash-60 min boil
300 gm Pale malt
75 grm Brown malt
65 Grm Choc malt
25 Grm roast barley
10 Grm oats
454 Grm liquid extract at start of boil
70 Grm Lactose at 10 mins
1/2 protofloc tablet at 15 mins
10 Grm Goldings (EKG) at 60 mins
4 Grm "" "" at 20 mins
Expected OG 1051 Expected FG 1011 Expected abv 5.2% IBU 36.74 SRM 30.62

Oh Oh,put this in wrong place-sorry:rolleyes:
 
try shaking it longer or adding yeast nutrient, makes a big difference
