I started brewing about 10 years ago in Madison, Wisconsin. Kits, then extract with specialty grains. When I moved to the UK, I started with all-grain. I brew mainly Belgian styles, because it's all about the yeast and malt - no hiding behind a wall of hops This site is fantastic! Definitely has helped me to improve my brewing, especially the recipe editor and calculators, and of course the forum. I'm now getting confident enough to scale up from a basic all-grain setup to a 50L or 100L HERMS, and I'm sure this site (and its members) is going to be every bit as helpful as it has already been.
