Brewer’s friend question?

    Hello my question is what should I set the Target setting to it has Kettle or fermenter? here a picture of what I am talking about https://imgur.com/gallery/fK3rkR3. I pretty new to this brewing software so any help would be appreciated.

    It depends on what you use to calculate your efficiency. For example, I use fermenter since I like to calculate brewhouse efficiency. This allows me to (relatively) accurately predict how much beer and at what abv I'll get given a set of ingredients. It takes a few brews and some tweaking to get your process and efficiencies nailed down.

    I'm not certain what an advantage of using kettle would be, though I'm sure someone else here could help more on that front.

    there are a couple a,ways to look at this but in general if you pour everything from the boil kettle into the fermenter, you choose fermenter, if you leave trub in the boil kettle and subtract it in the profile you choose kettle
