Blonde Stout

Hi, folks, this is my first post, although I've been a subscriber to Brewers Friend for a few years now. I noted that a lot of folks have viewed my recipe for blonde stout, a couple have brewed it, but I'm wondering about others experiences with blonde stouts, given the apparent level of interest. Mine comes across as a milk stout and when I ask friends to close their eyes, taste and then identify the beer, they always think it's a big dark beer.

Who else has brewed them and what's your view on them?

Mine's mixed. I've had around half a dozen. The coffee ones work well, the straight ones not so much and the one with beetroot, well, it had beetroot.
