To all those diggers that will never read these words, as well as those that do, thank you for your service and your courage. I’m a Yank, born that way quite by accident I’m sure, with an Aussie bride, so I still take a moment to contemplate and appreciate your selflessness and the price of your efforts. We’ll be commemorating ANZAC Day in our little corner of the world in Alabama tomorrow with all the Aussies we can muster at this latitude and longitude, never forgetting that all gave some, and some gave all. I’ve yet to meet or know an American soldier that didn’t appreciate having a Digger in the trenches with him when it mattered. Thanks for your service and your friendship. My glass is already raised.
