i would love to try my hand at it. have no idea where to start.
I have indeed considered it, and I think it's relatively easy from what I've read, but I think I could buy better than anything I could actually make. Plus, I've got enough keeping up with homebrew.
I've thought of it too. Especially since I already have a Digiboil and a kit is available to turn it into a still.
As thunderwagn said, I can buy a much better product that I could probably make. Don't think I'd like waiting for it to age either.
good points. quality is a big reason to get into home brewing.

I have a customer who makes whiskey, it is actually not too bad (he mixes it, so to him it is great)
Having said that when he makes it he makes GALLONS, and GALLONS of it, so it has actually been a couple of years since he made a batch...
