A 'Harveys of Sussex' type bitter

    Have this in the FV at present. Used CML dried ale yeast on it.Really should have a liquid yeast but worth a shot with dried.If it's something like it i will be happy.
    6 litre partial mash. 75 minute mash.60 minute boil.
    454 grams liquid extract
    415 grams pale malt
    60 grams crystal 140L
    35 grams flaked maize
    6 grams Whitbread goldings 60 min
    6 grams Bramling X 60 min
    4 grams Fuggles f/out
    4 grams Goldings f/out
    1/2 protofloc tablet 15 min
    1/2 pack crossmyloof ale yeast re hydrated.
    OG 1.040
    expected FG 1.009
    abv 4.14%
    IBU 36.17
    SRM11.56

    Agree with that last statement.
    have done one decent bitter in about six tries.Hope this is a goodun otherwise i shall either not bother with them anymore or go over to liquid yeasts for them.

    Bottled this up today, a little under the FG,steady readings over three days gave me 3.8%,hey ho. Nice and clear,colour was what i was looking for as well,
    Also bottled up a small batch of mild also at 3.8%:)
