Big Brew Day is fast approaching. http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/p ... rew-events How many of you are planning on brewing at a registered site? Also, how many gallons will you be brewing and what style? AHA has suggested recipes to brew. http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/p ... ay/recipes I'll start.. I'm hosting and expect at least 75 people at the store. 8-10 brew systems set up by local brewers. I'll be brewing 20 gallons of the More Fun Blonde. http://wiki.americanhomebrewers.org/Mor ... e-AllGrain It'd be nice if we could keep totals on this forum. Brian
I'll be hosting a few friends at my place. We're likely get three brewing setups going with a grand total of 20 gallons brewed between three different beers. I was thinking of brewing Larry's Summer Citra Kolsch. http://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/r ... xperiment-
Not attending any type of group brew session, but my brew schedule (yes, I've so nerded-out on the hobby, I actually have a schedule) says I'll be brewing the strawberry blonde ale that I've posted in recipes feedback forum. (Before the day comes, this might change to a pale ale recipe I've been working on, which is intended to be similar to Bells Two Hearted, but as an APA rather than an IPA: "Two Lite").
I plan to attend the festivities at The Brew Hut in Aurora, however my system being electric is not portable. So I will brew up the English Mild the day before. http://wiki.americanhomebrewers.org/PointonsProper-AllGrain This is a great event, and I have re brewed the suggested recipes over the years. My favorite was the Poor Richards Ale form Big Brew 2006. http://wiki.americanhomebrewers.org/PoorRichardsAleAllGrainRecipe I have made it many times and will make it again.
Just finished an Oktoberfest!!! Happy Brew Day!!! Yeast will be pitched bout 7AM ish so I can pour off excess from starter. Too far from clubs or groups to join in big festivities but am there in heart and soul. As Ben said "Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy. Brew on fellow brewers, brew on!!!
Well I'm up and getting ready for the big day! I had a change in plans with what I'm brewing though. I decided to do 2 batches piggyback and finish with 50 gallons today! We're expecting 75-100 people at the store brewing, helping, learning and having fun. I'll get some pictures and add them after today. Brew on everyone. Brian
Wasn't planning on brewing when I woke up this morning, but after a few last-minute changes of plan today I ended up throwing a blonde ale together. Here's the recipe. Probably the palest-coloured batch I've done so far. Fingers crossed all these 4th May batches turn out good worldwide. We might all end up with sore heads around the middle of June!
