    Brew Logs

Hi Anyone else having the same issue as me whereby the logs entered in a brew session are not listed in date order. I have my brewery logs (day +0) grouped together, then at the bottom of the page is a log i made +3 days later. Then iIve entered another log today and thats right at the top. Thanks

    Costing missing

Hi I have added all my inventory items in and added the costs, but for some reason Yeast won't show a cost in the final recipe when its all added up. Also if I click on the £0 button when editing the recipe it still won't let me edit the value even when at the top it says you should be able to...

I just cant get this right....

I changed my settings so that I use both elements in my boiler during the boil I am now constantly hitting just above my target OG's and have upped the efficiency a little

    Gantt Chart??

This has probably already been suggested but it would be great to see a chart of all the brews I have on the go and when they need various things doing to them such as chilling, dry hopping, kegging, bottling etc. I have created a manual one in Excel but if it was tied into BF it would be...

I just cant get this right....

What part of the software controls by how many degrees your wort will increase in a set period of time. What ever recipe I seem to dial in, the difference between the pre-boil gravity and the post boil gravity are always miles off. I did a Heady Topper clone last night and I wanted 1.047° per...

    Hop Addition Differentiation

OK I suppose but its still quite a busy interface, colour change would be good.

    Hop Addition Differentiation

Bit of a small piddly idea but I was putting together a massive hop bill for a Heady Topper clone and I thought it would be nice to able to look at the huge list of hop additions, whilst editing the recipe, but be able to tell the difference between, boil, aroma and dry hop additions. At the...

    Thin oatmeal stout

I see no mention of mash treatment, did you add any gypsum or flake? For a dark beer you need to have a ratio of Chloride:Sulphate of around 300:100 This will help greatly with body and mouth feel. A lack of calcium will also contribute towards a thin beer.

    Daft Question

Thanks guys for your comments, they have really helped. I am biting the bullet and taking Charlie Papazians advice, relax. Stop worrying about it. Ive now set my efficiency at 65% and I'm happy with that. I brewed on Monday and everything worked out fine. I really should have worked out the...

    Daft Question

Thanks sba, these are all things I know but I think I've been trying to nail efficiency without getting the process into a routine, until now that is. One day I'll treat myself to a Braumeister!

    Daft Question

Thanks guys, I know its only three litres but I have been trying for a while to get this rig calibrated. I may well either try dropping the efficiency, which is rubbish, its already at 70% or I may add some sugar at the end of the boil.

    Daft Question

Ive been brewing for around 6 years now and I cant believe I cant work out the answer to this one, I think its more a case that I would like to see others answers compared to mine. I brewed last night and had dropped the efficiency on the recipe for the first time down to 70% as I had been...

    Dry hops idea?

Just to push the opinion the other way I have recently made a very good 7.5% IPA that was dry hopped during fermentation with 50g of Centennial and 50g of Citra. This really worked, the aroma and flavour stood out for weeks. I am now of the opinion it may well be the type of hop that keeps the...
