Query, not request - Gyle Prime Calc

?? Fermentation creates CO2. Sugar is being fermented in the bottle. not sure I understand your point here?

Query, not request - Gyle Prime Calc

You're right - sugar is heaps easier and well understood. And yes, part of the attraction is making a beer all from malt and hops and yeast and water,, but I've never been precious about that. I wonder though how a gyle primed beer vs a sugar one may be different, so I want to try it. If the...

Query, not request - Gyle Prime Calc

yep. drink beer, then think beer, then try math. bad combo. essentially, gyle priming. BF calc gets a different result to me, though i thought i used the same method (there are article links on the BF calc) so wondering where i went wrong. Or if I did. Haven't tried it yet, but the lure of just...

    Salt additions in recipe view.

no, not always the same. from the recipe you go to your water screen, adjust to the profile you want, then hit a button and the required additions are added to your recipe sheet - which i then print and use for brew day

Query, not request - Gyle Prime Calc

G'day, I've been trying to create a spreadsheet to replicate the Gyle Calc - just for fun and to better understand the functions involved. I've got it pretty close, but it returns a different enough result to your calc that I thought I'd ask ... So... I take the wort OG and FG and convert...

    Salt additions in recipe view.

This is a great feature request - once we've tweaked our salts, it should be a simple click to transfer it the recipe sheet. It's linked, so shouldn't be tricky? Would make the process easier - it actually stops me from wanting to tweak water because i have to write everything down by hand...

Problem with calculation when using custom fermentable

It occurs to me that you'd only ever calculate a 100% efficiency on adjuncts, or DME / LME. It's never an option for grain - so why not have a separate option for custom DME etc, which is always calculated at 100%, then a custom grains options which is calculated based on your recipe (ie the...

Problem with calculation when using custom fermentable

Ahhh! Cheers Josh, looks like we have a solution. Not intuitive though (but makes sense in how you're having to approach it), so maybe a note about this on the adding custom fermentables inventory page is a good idea. Thanks again - and just in time :)

Problem with calculation when using custom fermentable

Hey, I'm sure I'm not the only one seeing this problem - has the BF team been able to replicate? Can someone else give it a try to see? Would be nice to see this bug solved.

Problem with calculation when using custom fermentable

Hey, I'm having the exact same issue: my custom malt has same PPG as American Ale 2 Row, but switching between the two shows a massive difference in calculated gravity (1.071 (custom) vs 1.053 (AA) Is this a recurring issue, or unfixed since last year when reported on this thread? Loving BF...

    (Resolved) Scaling recipes

It would be great to be able to quickly scale a recipe size to whatever batch size I'd prefer - I'm into doing small batches more often these days. Also, the ability to convert someone else's recipe to metric or imperial as the case may be would be useful. Great site!
