I was thinking about growing my own hops as well. This thread has been helpful. However I have a question. I once heard that hops are bad for dogs is that true?

I was wondering if anybody knows how long a Star San solution lasts once it has been made. Can I make a large stock of it and just keep on using it or should I make fresh each time I brew. I tried the Star San website and it did not say much about the subject.

I read something awhile back about using coffee filters as a way to filter the beer. I was thinking you could take a stack of a couple and soak them in santizing solution and than pour the beer through it. Has anybody tried this before or have any experience with it?
