    Mashout and Fly-Sparging

So the top of your grain bed is dry and exposed when you start sparging?

Yes, this is how I have been doing it!

    Mashout and Fly-Sparging

So you drain completely, then fly-sparge, (sprinkle), from the HLT? Is this the most common method?

    Mashout and Fly-Sparging

No, not a batch sparge. I meant draining the wort fully, then fly sparging on the exposed grains.

    Mashout and Fly-Sparging

I have some questions about these two steps in the all-grain brewing process. Mashout: For my first couple recipes where I mashed in the brewpot, I could simply turn on the heat and increase to mashout temp. The first time I used a cooler to mash, I tried to mashout by adding hot water, but I...

My 02 wand doesn't fit the tank.

I see. So be sure to turn off with the knob, then unscrew from the cannister. Thanks. In regards to the cost, it doesn't seem too bad. The 02 cannister itself was $12. If that gets me 4 or 5 uses I can live with that.

My 02 wand doesn't fit the tank.

I'm not sure I understand. There doesn't seem to be a part on the cannister that is removable...?

My 02 wand doesn't fit the tank.

I guess so. I thought the correct tank would be easy to find. This was the only size my local hardware store had, so I assumed it would fit.

My 02 wand doesn't fit the tank.

Purchased an aeration kit from northernbrewer.com and the disposable tank from my local hardware store doesn't fit. It's really close, but it won't actually thread. Do I have the wrong tank?

Where do I enter Corn Sugar in the recipe editor?

The recipe I am following calls for a 90 minute boil. Which is interesting because I am chatting with a guy on another thread who insists that a barleywine needs to boil "for at least 4 hours."

Where do I enter Corn Sugar in the recipe editor?

I am making an all-grain barleywine recipe that I am trying to enter into the recipe editor. This includes 1lb of Dextrose that is added 60 minutes into the boil. In the recipe editor, I can enter this in the "Fermentables" part, but I think this would be wrong because it isn't part of the...

Here's something I didn't notice before. Why does it say Sparge:0 gal? And how do I find out how much sparge water I need?
