    Fermentation / Bottling time

Probably. I am in the UK so might be a bit cooler than 68. Both. If I leave it, then the bubbles happen around every 12 seconds now. No signs of infection.

Ah I get it now. How much gap would you leave it between the two readings?

    Fermentation / Bottling time

thank you! I took the OG but I have no real idea what the ABV should be, so what good would a gravity reading do, out of interest? I always take the FG reading before I bottle and work out the ABV...

    Fermentation / Bottling time

Hi all. I am a small batch beginner brewer and have a few Qs. I've got some beer fermenting that I made recently. On Sunday it will be two weeks since I made it so I had hoped I'll be bottling then, however it's still slowly bubbling so I assume it's still fermenting. I don't have the tools...

Little / no fermentation in my small batch. Please help :(

Thanks everyone. I will definitely give it a week or so before bottling as I want to dry hop it more and chuck in more grapefruit peel. As always I really appreciate all the guidance on here. Cheers

Little / no fermentation in my small batch. Please help :(

Thanks. it's possible - it's the same demi and screw cap as my avatar. I wonder if it's not the tight seal it once was...

I never really saw the rolling at all. Maybe some minor rolling for a brief period (few hours tops)

Little / no fermentation in my small batch. Please help :(

Thanks for all the responses. Well, I've just taken a reading like you guys suggest and it's 1020! Somehow in 5 days it's gone to 5.25% without any visible action. It tastes decent (needs bottle conditioning) as well. Is that possible? I am not worried I misread the OG but I cant see...

Little / no fermentation in my small batch. Please help :(

I could do but what's the point? It's clearly not been fermenting as no CO2? I will try to take one tomorrow though as you suggest. Thanks

Little / no fermentation in my small batch. Please help :(

Hi everyone During the lockdown, I got into brewing small batch 1g and thanks to all the wonderful help on this forum, I got some pretty decent results. After a few months off brewing I decided to brew on Saturday but it was/is a disaster and I wonder if you can help me salvage it. In a...

Shaking or stirring a fermentation vessel after dry hop?

    No worries! I only lost a bit - it's a bit obvious I guess... !

Shaking or stirring a fermentation vessel after dry hop?

You're telling me! I added the hops during peak fermentation (too early - was 20 hours after pitching) and then it went nuts.

Weird floaty sh!t in my fermentation. Photos!

Thanks everyone! It actually tasted great and managed to bottle without any sediment. I rally appreciate the guidance.

Weird floaty sh!t in my fermentation. Photos!

Hi guys. I was about to bottle this and have only just noticed it's quite different from other beers I've brewed... Loads of weird floaty things. Are the small balls mould? And the flakes? I dry hopped it twice but this stuff doesn't look like hop particles to me. One thing is that I...

Questions - New England IPA (recipe included)

Cheers Mark. The yeasts arrived last night and are in rather awkward plastic pouches that would be tricky to keep half full in the fridge. Do you think there would be a downside if I pitched the whole pouch into my 1 gallon wort?

Questions - New England IPA (recipe included)

So just stir the boil? Or at the end of the boil?

Questions - New England IPA (recipe included)

Thanks! So it really means dry hopping? But instead of a specific point in time, its a point in fermentation?
