    controller wiring is good for 20 amp (12 gauged was built for 20 amp service.) this was made for smaller brews like 2.5 -3 gallon. It is a BIAB. i guess i haven't looked at the total amps that would be used. 2000 watt element, the pump is good for 1 amp (small pump works good) other than that...

    Down loaded the Brewersfriend recipie designer today. found it hard to find some of the malts and hops by just browsing the drop down. for example tried to find 2 row and crystal malts by just typing them in. it is listed in countries and not in what I call the malts.     1.7 gallon batch.. 1.3 Lb. of Pilsner 1.1 Lb. of Maris Otter 2.47 oz. of Flaked oate 3.53 oz. of Munich 10L 1.6 oz. of chocolate Did I get this right? Is it converted right as a dumb American?

    new hydrometer

    Got the Google sheet set up. Can also watch on my computer which keeps track of the gravity and temp also has a graph and updates every 15 minutes. It took some works but a great so far.

    just bought a Tilt hydrometer, this thing is great. You can see the Gravity as it happens and the temperature with out opening the fermenter. you guys should check it out.

    Tupperware bowl huh... mmm nice idea. I normally just stick it in the wort when I use that one and hold on tight so it doesn't fall in.

    I guess I am in a good position, my LHBS is only 15 minutes away and it is the biggest in Colorado. It has everything. I feel lucky when I hear from brewers so far away from the stores or have to order things.

    finished the mash, did my boil, and now in the fermenter. gonna go ahead and make beer with it all it can do is kill me..(prop me up beside the juke box when I'm gone) Learned a lesson, from now on I am not going to use one that breaks. I have 2 metal ones with the long stems and round face...

    my thermometer broke and little black pellets when everywhere. It is a floating one with red top, the bottom of it is what broke. Not sure if any of the pellets got into my wort and am concerned. What are these pellets and should I be concerned?

    yeast smacked last week

    Been over 12 hours in the starter now. Has worked great, lots of nice foamy on top has settled a little now. Will be ready for the second part to bring the yeast to the 400 billon cells needed.
