Partial Mash Brewer (?) seeking to upgrade to all grain

Thanks a lot! The Joy of HOme Brewing is what I have but I find it rather cumbersome to get the information I seek easily. Also, my all grain brewing neighbor just told me he brews in a bag...I had never heard of it. Thanks for the book recommendation. I will get it ASAP.

Partial Mash Brewer (?) seeking to upgrade to all grain

Hogarth, Thank you, that helps a lot. So, in essence I have been doing a partial mash in execution, just not ingredients. What I need now is to do the mash with temp management and see what improvement I can get in my beer. Would love to go straight to all grain but there are some processes...

OG is lower than it should be based on calculator.

I had not set up a profile. I followed the link to do so but I have no idea what water losses, absorptions etc. are. I have a bucket, a pot, a hydrometer calibrated to 68F and an emersion chiller. I know no other stats they request.

    Repitch yeast after fermentation stop?

Thanks. They were for dry hopping. My concern was the heat from the boiling the hops and not cooling entirely before tossing in the bucket first may gave killed the yeast. All brews thus far 10+ have bubbled pretty vigerouly the fost week. This one did for 1.5 days until I added the hops.
