Ya, that's one aspect I don't like about the competition. I don't do Facebook, so I'm not sure how I'd address issues there. That said, I've been doing this since the Homebrew Digest was the only non-print resource available. Hell, I'm still using my Jack Schmidling Productions MaltMill from...

So I just brewed my first beer with Brewfather today and its been the best experience I've had in a long time. No fuss, no muss. I selected my equipment from a list, input my tap water profile, and imported a recipe from here. Boom! Hit all targets 100% without the fudge factors I've been...

    WHATS GOING ON ?

I disagree. When a company is charging folks to provide a service, they have an obligation to employ basic change management protocols. In this case, the developer failed to test their changes against Firefox, one of the most common web browsers in use today. That's a glaring oversight with...

    Possible change to recipe editor

I don't have Chrome, but it does appear to be specific to Firefox. I don't see them on Palemoon or Brave either. Here's what I'm seeing on Firefox.

    Possible change to recipe editor

Its a new feature that was rolled out overnight. They don't show up on the mobile version.

Long time user here, but only recently a Premium Member. Not because I'm cheap or didn't like the site, but because I frequently change credit cards to follow the best deals which makes CC subs a pita to maintain. That said, I'm already feeling buyers remorse. Between the ongoing feature...

    WHATS GOING ON ?

Agreed. The new editor is a cluttered mess and I'm starting to get tired of having to re-adjust to a new tool design every time I sit down to use it. I do software QA for a living, at the end of the day I just want to make beer.

Is the recipe calculator ph determination out of wack?

What I meant to say is that the 4.95 pH that was calculated but measured 5.65 was with a last minute change to the recipe to crisp pale chocolate. My reference to roasted barley was from memory based on what I normally use. I don't know what brand pale choc I had on hand when I made the...

Is the recipe calculator ph determination out of wack?

My mistake. It's the Crisp Pale Chocolate that is off. I had run out of roasted barley and substituted the pale chocolate at the last minute, and just happened to mess with the water profile at the same time.

    Can't edit recipes.

Been trying to scale and brew a batch all morning, but the recipe editor just clocks endlessly w/o loading.

Is the recipe calculator ph determination out of wack?

I've noticed the same thing. Without dark malts the calculated pH is spot on with my measurements, but my dark beers are way out of whack. Brewed my 60 shilling with extra dark caramel and roasted barley yesterday, which had a calculated pH of 4.95, but actual measurements were 5.65. Luckily...

    water chemistry new version

Thanks! It's looking better. An existing recipe came up as 5.25 pH whereas I had 5.28 in the notes from the previous version. I've noticed that all the fields now complain about using decimals, so maybe this difference is due to rounding in the formulas? Also, the mash information is now...

    water chemistry new version

Went to tweak a couple params on an existing recipe.. the salt additions were pre-filled with random info while the grist section was completely blank. After correcting these sections, the mash pH doesn't come close to what I was expecting based on existing recipes. Calculated mash pH on this...
