(DONE) Make mash readout appear in qt and gal

Re: Make mash readout appear in qt and gal Just wanted to say thanks for adding my strike water in gallons, under the water requirements tab, that helps me! It would be nice if you could also change this under the mash page in a brew session.

    Check out the upgrade

Very cool! Are you looking to use both sides to ferment? I have a similar sized fridge I use for my lager chamber, however, I left the freezer side still a freezer to store my hops (and meat). To accomplish this, I disconnected the fridge side thermostat on the top (well just removed it). Left...

    1,2,3 gallon fermenter

I wouldn't be too worried about the head space. Any o2 that is left in there when you are filling it will get purge out as the beer ferments. If you want to be extra safe, when taking a sample, before resealing it with your airlock take some co2 and blow it in the carboy for a few seconds as...

(DONE) Mash water requirement on the recipe builder

Where is this option tracked? Every time I brew I still have to type into goggle to convert my quarts to gallons (I'm lazy to divide by 4).

Need help understanding pre-boil numbers and post-boil

Thanks for the explanation Larry. That helps clarify, it seems like both methods will get me to the end result. I'll probably switch the to boil kettle method, since this way I don't have to guess what the efficiency should be. I'll just set my amount for the BK to include my dead space, etc.

Need help understanding pre-boil numbers and post-boil

I have shared the recipe we are talking about. http://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/r ... /dry-stout I'm still refining my equipment on the boil off rate and what's left in the kettle.

Need help understanding pre-boil numbers and post-boil

We're on the same page. But you made my point. Why would the system give me numbers based on boiling down to 12 gallons? (Assuming my efficiency was correct). 12 gallons is what is going in the fermenter and there are dead losses in the kettle. In this particular case I achieved higher...

Need help understanding pre-boil numbers and post-boil

I'm not sure if this is a software issue or not. I just took my pre-boil sample and it came out to 1.032, my target is 1.040. Taking 32 x 15 (gallons pre boil) = 480 I boil off around 1.8 gallons an hour (electric setup). I estimate that I don't pick up around .75 gallons from the bottom of...

    Email notifications?

Would it be possible to have the system email you reminders? Say I am dry hopping for 14 days and in an ideal world I would remember exactly 14 days, but that doesn't always happen. Can we have the system email us a reminder on certain items like for example to rack?

(DONE) Mash water requirement on the recipe builder

Larry - I found the new quick view, which helps. I don't know if this is what you were referring to in your post I quoted, but I doesn't break out strike water in gallons, that isn't on that quick view, and I can only find it on on the screen shot I took a few posts up.

(DONE) Carbonation Link in brew session??

Re: Carbonation Link in brew session?? Well I just found your calc on the site! Would still be cool to have it embedded in my brew session somehow.

(DONE) Carbonation Link in brew session??

What do you think about adding a carb conversion calculator or some chart to brew sessions? Maybe add another drop down item like a sample to log the entry? It would be nice if I knew for example I was carbing at 32 F and wanted 2.2 volumes, what does that PSI setting look? I found the priming...

(DONE) Make mash readout appear in qt and gal

Re: Make mash readout appear in qt and gal Excellent! Would you also be able to convert this number in the sections where it asks me how much wort I collected or transferred to the BK? Those are still in quarts as well.

(DONE) Mash water requirement on the recipe builder

Re: (NEXT RELEASE) Mash water requirement on the recipe buil What is mash water defined as? is it strike water? I just brewed again, and still found myself converting the strike water required to gallons because the water requirements page doesn't give me gallons.

    (RESOLVED) Small additions

Re: Small additions Ah, I see where you are talking about. I was looking at the mash calculator page and not the one you mentioned. This helps. Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate the fact that you are here answering questions and looking for ways to improve.

    (RESOLVED) Small additions

Re: Small additions I did find it in water requirements tab and started using that. I think leaving it there could be ok. I suppose changing in my default settings that could fix things, but I would have to adjust my mash thickness then to adjust the other way. We always look at mash thickness...

(DONE) New home page and social sharing buttons

Re: (LAUNCH) New home page and social sharing buttons You somewhat answered it with bitbucket. One concern I had is what is your data security/backup? To me while I don't back up my PC that had BeerTools on it, I would be curious to hear what you have in case you lose a server?

    (DONE) Auto Inventory quantity removal?

Being new to the software, correct me if I'm wrong. But what if you give us the ability to create a recipe with inventory? If I select a hop that I have two different AA versions for, give me the choice to select which I want. Or give this option when I go to brew it offering me the option to...
