    Unit conversion is horribly inaccurate

First of all, thanks to the developers for the effort they are doing. Let me stress that the behavior seems to indicate that it is not a fixed number of significant digits that are kept during conversion, but an absolute number of digits. Say, if 1.0e-5 kg is converted to grams, it should be...

    Unit conversion is horribly inaccurate

First of all, thanks for a great product! However, I would like to mention something which in my honest opinion is a bug. The unit conversion selection feature is very useful, especially for European brewers that convert American units. However, as it is, it is very inaccurate, probably from...

    IBU calculations and volume

Hi! Does the IBU calculations take into account the evaporation rate of the equipment and the time of the addition? Let's say I add 10 grams of hops at 60 minutes. After 30 minutes, 1 liter has boiled off according to my settings, and I then add 10 new grams of hops, boiling for 30 new...

    (RESOLVED) BIAB and BeerXML export

When exporting and importing a BIAB recipe, the type is changed to All Grain. Is this possible to fix, or is this a limitation of BeerXML? Thanks!

    Candi Sugar

Thanks for your reply! I notice in the ingredient list that there are separate items for syrup and candi sugar. I assumed that "candi sugar" is rocks, which is what I have. It is pure sugar, so I believe it *should* be 46 PPG.

    Candi Sugar

Hi! The ingredients list has Belgian Candi Sugar (Blond/Clear) listed with 38 PPG. But as this is solid blocks with invert sugar, should the potential not be 46 PPG? Thanks!

    Fermentation activity

I brewed a dry stout a few days ago. Here is a log-plot of the bubble frequency. The various fermentation phases (as described in, e.g., Palmer's "How To Brew") are clearly visible as straight lines, indicating exponential decay of the fermentables in the bucket. Doing such a plot is a great...

(RESOLVED) Metric units in Brew Session

Re: Metric units in Brew Session Thanks a lot, didn't notice those settings, because we just started brewing right away, and in the recipe editor the settings can be chosen. So I just assumed the settings didn't exist. Will look harder next time, promise!

(RESOLVED) Metric units in Brew Session

Tanks for a fantastic website! We brewed a Baltic porter today, using the Brew Session feature, and it was surprisingly great. However, I miss metric units in some of the dialogs, e.g., wort temperature, volume, etc. I hope this will be added, as it is a little boring to convert by hand.

    Norse n00b

Hi everyone. Norwegian n00b homebrewer here, only two brews so far with my pal. Must say Brewer's Friend is an excellent tool! Homebrewing is exploding in Norway -- probably due to outrageous socialist alcohol prices -- and after only short time, I'm hooked. På gjensyn!

    I hate bottling because...

If I *know* that water-based solutions will not do the trick, I put the bottle in the oven at 150 C for 5-10 minutes, peel of the label, and remove the remaining glue. Often, water or water with soda does the trick. If not, I use vegetable oil, like sunflower oil. Yes, that's right. You will...
