    yes...Most times I make a yeast starter to help create more yeast cells, but I usually only use one package - I heard that with Imperial Yeast, you don't even need to make a starter - might want to give them a try - I will on my next brew in a couple of weeks

    I am curious if you could use just either Imperial Yeast Belgian Ales B45 Gnome or it's B51 Workhorse strains. I think that might help you achieve your goal.

    The other night I just bottled my Strawberry Cider. Already had 3 bottles do a volcano :eek: - I am thinking of washing the yeast from this batch of cider & use it in an Apple cider batch very shortly. Probably in the middle of Sept.

    I know this will sound a bit crazy, but I have used Jolly Ranchers in my previous batches of cider. 2 pieces per gallon. not sure if that cause a good fermentation, but I like to believe it did :P

    keep up w/ the updates & provide details of what you are finding. BTW, I have harvest yeast from my backyard. Now I am trying to see if I can ferment juice & make a nice wine. Not sure if the yeast from my backyard is an alcohol producing yeast. We shall see shortly.

    sorry for the late reply, but I had a lot success using White Labs WLP775 English Cider yeast. That yeast is hard working & my ciders are fruity. Also my ciders are a lot clearer as well. I have used Red Star Montrachet wine yeast. That cider was like a dry white wine.
