    Stuck Keg

A bit of a problem here: I have a half-empty keg of a decent IPA and for some reason, nothing comes out when I try to pour from it. I've upped the pressure, blown gas backward through it, nothing. Any ideas how to free it up without ruining the beer? Thanks in advance...

    Carbohydrate Calculator

As a recently diagnosed Type 2 diabetic, carbohydrates have become of great interest to me. I can do the calculations on my own but I'm sure there are others who need this information, whether for medical reasons or just to lose weight. The carbs in a 12-ounce beer come up in the Brew Session...

    November BF Zoom Meeting

Who's in? Date, Saturday, November 28th (Sunday morning in Oz), 4:00 pm MST (2300 UTC). Sorry for the late call, Europe and Africa, but we have to get Australia in as well. I'll poll the audience: If we go an hour earlier, would it interfere too much with Ben's beauty sleep? 2200 UTC is...

    lacto Fermentation Temp Off

I used Lactobacillus Delbruckii today. I'm incubating it at 110 degrees even though the Recipe Editor seems to believe that I should be fermenting in the 70s... Seems a bit low to me.

Bicarbonate calculations off in water calc

I switched over to RO water and so began to add bicarbonate to bring the water up to the balanced profile. Adding 4g to my 5 gal batch resulted in a change of less than 1 ppm. I did the calculations by hand and, in my 8.75 gallons of water (33l), it should have added 87 ppm of bicarbonate...

    New Water Profile - Update?

A quick question: I just modified my default water profile. When I rebrew something with the old profile, will the recipe automatically update or do I have to update each using the water calculator? The changes were minor, I'd never notice it if they didn't update but I was curious....

    Old Brown Ale

Part of the booty from the brewery bankruptcy was 5 pounds of brown malt. For no apparent reason and likely because it's a little too warm to chill lagers effectively, I was thinking of making something British with it. Quite a bit of study later and I came up with this vaguely Barklay Perkins...

    Residual Alkalinity Range in Recipe

Residual alkalinity is important to brewing, particularly to hit the target mash pH. It's possible to find it in the "more" section of the recipe but due to its importance, would it be possible to put it in the header?
