    Recipe pre-boil and post-boil don't add up

Thanks for providing that insight. I've overlooked the batch stats (other than BU/GU) in the drop down menu, I'm going to pay more attention to that, especially when mash capping. I'm looking forward to trying it out the next time I make a mash capped beer. I ordinarily use around 74% BH on...

    Recipe pre-boil and post-boil don't add up

Following up on this. I'm curious if I'm doing something wrong. I've been using BF for years and haven't encountered this issue before. I'd like to know if this is a regression or if I didn't use the tool properly.

    Recipe pre-boil and post-boil don't add up

I have a recipe with an estimated 1.081 post boil gravity and a 1.059 pre-boil gravity. I brewed it today and my pre-boil gravity was 1.058 (very close); however, my post boil gravity was 1.068 (>10 pts off). I did some investigation into the accuracy of the post boil gravity calculated by...

    Cooling Shrinkage

Thanks for your response. I've been recording the ending kettle volume after it has been cooled. It would seem I should be measuring that before it has been chilled.

    Cooling Shrinkage

FYI - Here's the recipe from my thumbnail. You should be able to see the quick water requirements in the sheet that comes up when you press "print" at the top of the page. https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/print/1298719

    Cooling Shrinkage

I have my equipment profile set to 4% cooling/shrinkage. When I go to print out my recipe, I don't see any reference to the cooling. 4% is a quite a bit of volume to drop, so I'm not sure if this is throwing off the recipe's calculations. When I run the numbers, it doesn't appear to be using...

    corny keg cip ball cleaner

To support the upside down keg, I use a bucket with a hole I cut into the lid. The hole is slightly smaller in diameter than the keg. It does a good job at supporting the keg. My only concern (nitpick really) about the lid you have is that the lip where the lid connects to the keg will not get...

    Finishing in the Bottle

Are these the drops that you add directly to the bottle? If so, I don't see any downsides to adding another drop, since that was the required amount. Even though it's only been two weeks, the beer won't magically get more sugar to carbonate fully. Luckily, this is a mistake that's easily...

    Snapshots are annoying

That seems like a good approach to guarantee you don't lose your data. I love that BrewersFriend stores everything on the cloud. To me, a lot of the value from BrewersFriend is that I don't have to keep paper notes. However, if I'm losing my brew data, a paper backup may be necessary.

    Snapshots are annoying

Pricelessbrewing, I think your suggestion would be a great addition. Although, I'm unsure if the "latest updated" would have the desired impact. I would be concerned about snapshots showing up as the latest updated, when all I really want to update is the non-snapshot version. A toggle, as...

    Snapshots are annoying

Title says it, dealing with snapshots is a PITA. They clutter up my recipes. I know I can toggle their visibility, but I have to leave them on if I want to find an old version of the recipe. Identifying the old version is very difficult with the current system. Here's my story: As somebody who...
