Autoscaling of axes on fermentation charts

It seems like the axes for the fermentation chats (temp and SG) are fixed. It would be nice if these autoscaled to the available data to give better use the available display space.

Predicted OG in Brew Session doesn't match measured value

I have not calibrated this particular tilt, but I have another and it was very accurate as delivered. I will do a cal, but don’t really suspect that as an issue. One thing that was an issue, and I have seen this before with a Tilt, is that some yeast was stuck on the tilt, which was definitely...

Predicted OG in Brew Session doesn't match measured value

Hi, I created a recipe, and started a brew session, but in the session the predicted OG seems very high, and did not match my measured value (predicted 1.048. measured 1.039). The beer is an ESB. Now that fermentation is under way, I currently have a gravity of 1.014, below the predicted FG of...

    Adding apple juice to inventory

Yes, that did the trick - thanks!

    Adding apple juice to inventory

Tried the refresh brew session option - it preserved the Tilt data but didn’t update the recipe, .e. The apple juice still showed the old PPG value, which is different from the current inventory value, Thanks, Guy

    Adding apple juice to inventory

OK, so now things worked out correctly in the base recipe once I updated my inventory item for the apple juice based on the above formula. I had already started a brew session with the old recipe, and I can't figure out whether I can update the session to take the new apple juice figures into...

    Adding apple juice to inventory

Hi, I tried to use the formula for PPG. My OG os 1.044. My calculated weight came out to 43.5. Therefore I think that would give PPG as follows: PPG = (1.044 - 1)*1000*43.5/5 = 0.044*1000*43.5/5 = 382.8 This seems way too high - what am I doing wrong?

    Adding apple juice to inventory

OK, great thanks. I use a Tilt so I have the OG reading, so I'll run the numbers and see if that straighten things out. Thanks again!

    Adding apple juice to inventory

Hi, I am brewing some cider and as there is no current fermentable entry for apple juice I am trying to figure out how to go about this. I have added apple juice to my inventory, but was confused about what to put in for ppg - in the end I found I could not enter a ppg value directly but by...

Notes in comments section don't wrap when displayed on fermentation graph

I have a couple of brew log entries where I have added notes, and selected the option to display the notes on the fermentation graph. The first note is quite long; on the fermentation graph the note does not wrap and extends outside the box, and is hidden by the box for the second note. I think...

Question on SG correction for Tilt charts

Hi, I am now running two Tilts - this integration is a great enhancement to Brewer's Friend, IMHO. I have a question on the charting. As the Tilt supplies both temperature and SG, it would be possible for the SG shown in the session graph to be auto temperature corrected - is this how it works...

Add a fermentation profile for a recipe

Well, that might be a good idea in general, but unless I missed something I don't think a Brewie controls fermentation temps, so the problem still exists

Add a fermentation profile for a recipe

I think the input format could be quite simple, just a repeating set of the following stages: Start temp; End Temp; Duration The recipe could then plot a graph of the temperature profile; if start and end temps are the same it will be a horizontal line, and if they are different it would just...

Add a fermentation profile for a recipe

It would be useful to have the ability to add a fermentation temperature profile as part of a recipe. This would provide a guide for setting temp controllers, Brewjackets, etc.

How do folks handle fermentation profiles?

So just something like 54 F for two weeks, then raise to 65 and ramp down to 54 over 4 weeks?

How do folks handle fermentation profiles?

If I understand the brew log forms (Sample, End of Fermentation) they will record and report the actual profile. I am looking for a way of attaching the fermentation plan to a recipe, i.e what does the recipe require in terms of temps over time, so I can program my Brewjacket accordingly.
