    Cider Support

Any news on adding support for cider? Even if I have to enter in a custom SG for the apple juice, it would still be easier than measuring the juice’s SG, then fiddling with the PPG to get the correct SG in the recipe. And at least add a no-boil option, with some sort of pre-fermentation...

    No graphing of ambient temperature?

    Anything? Problem is still there.

    No graphing of ambient temperature?

Nope. I’m seeing the same thing after turning on autoscaling.

    No graphing of ambient temperature?

You’re right. I’m seeing the same thing. As the screenshot below shows, the reading was 73.5 F, but the graph shows it as 75+. Good catch.

    No graphing of ambient temperature?

I edited a value & it looks like the graph rescales as expected. But I did find a problem while editing. I can edit the Ambient entry. But if I delete all of the Ambient entry (prior to typing in a new value), the Ambient field disappears.

    No graphing of ambient temperature?

Looks good, although the similarity between the color of the “Days” gauge (green) and the Ambient graph (slightly different green) is initially confusing. Will the temperature and ambient graphs rescale if a value goes out of range (e.g., Right now the range is 60F to 80F. What happens if...

    No graphing of ambient temperature?

I’d love to. As it happens I’m posting ambient temperature for a brew now. How can I get a look at the beta?

    Question about forwarding Tilt data

That worked. I’d have sworn I already tried that combination, but it worked this time. Many thanks.

    Question about forwarding Tilt data

I can’t forward data from my Tilt Hydrometer to Ubidots. The data arrives at Brewers Friend & I can plot it, but I can’t even create a new device on Ubidots. Here’s how I set forwarding up in devices I’ve tried turning “BF JSON format” on & off, and tried sending the data to...

    No graphing of ambient temperature?

Yes, I can post to it but I can’t plot the values. I’ll play with this again next week. Life is getting in the way right now.

    No graphing of ambient temperature?

Toggle-able sounds fine. Dashed line - great. As long as I can see the data I sent alongside the “standard” data. It would be great if I could display more than one data stream at a time. Watching the chiller temperature lets me know when to add more ice during the summer. Watching ambient...

    No graphing of ambient temperature?

Any more news on this? I had a similar issue last year. I used a microcontroller to measure my chiller temperature and send the temperature data to the session’s data stream. I could never get it to display.

    Good news. Thanks.

    Problem adding new yeast

When I add a new, custom, yeast to my inventory several fields don’t update correctly. Flocculation, Alcohol Tolerance, Attenuation, Temp Range Min, and Temp Range Max all stay at their default values. For example, the default attenuation is 65%. I set it to 80% and save the new value. When I...

adding additional data into brew session fermentation

I’ll second this request. I like to keep an eye on the external (ambient) temperature when I brew. I control fermentation temperature using an Inkbird (no WiFi), but want to know if I need to put more ice in the cooling bath. I built a Raspberry Pi device to monitor the temperature and stream...

Problem editing steps in Brew Steps

I made a few changes to the “cool wort down” brew steps in my profile & am getting odd results. Because I only use °F, I removed the references to °C. When I rebuilt a planned session’s steps, the referenceS to °C were still there & the °F temperatures in the profile and rebuilt steps were...

Problem calculating gravity from refractometer reading

Thanks. Brewer’s Friend generally works very well & this bug surprised. I’m just glad there’s a workaround.

Problem calculating gravity from refractometer reading

Sure I could work around the problem. That’s what I ended up doing (see first image) after I noticed that my gravity had apparently jumped, But the software is not consistent. Choosing “Other” gives me the option of using a refractometer reading, but does not calculate the gravity in a way...

Problem calculating gravity from refractometer reading

I expect that the software will give the same result for the same input. In the second screen shot, it is not applying the alcohol correction. This is an error. The correct value is 1.011.
