What are you drinking right now?

Just finished the last of my Irish Red Ale and kegged up an Elderflower Ale. Im pleasantly surprised with the elderflower ale, lovely light colour and the elderflower didn't overpower. Havent finished carbonation yet but the samples I took while kegging (strictly for research purposes) were...

    Whats on Tap / Bottled

Re: Whats on Tap Just finished my American Citra Wheat and kegged up my Irish Red. I think its time to buy a few more kegs, Im just being forced to drink my beer to make room for the new batch. Its an awful burden to have

Anyone seen something similar to what is in my Primary?

So its been a few days now and that stuff is still floating. If it smells ok, you really reckon its good enough to just siphon underneath and not worry?

What are you drinking right now?

   Only makes it all the sweater. That beautiful moment when the kids are old enough to take the chores and you dont have to constantly supervise or worry it'll be done right. It is a beautiful time. And and a nice Belgian to go with it is just a superb Sunday.

Anyone seen something similar to what is in my Primary?

It doesn't smell bad but its consistency is very thick, like a sludge. It has slowed but is still fermenting so I guess I'll leave it for now and see. Caught me off guard as I've never seen it so lumpy on the top. But everyday is a school day.

Anyone seen something similar to what is in my Primary?

So I opened up my Primary for a little peek today after a week fermenting, I was greeted by something I can only assume means I'm about to ditch a batch for the first time. I'm thinking some kind of bacteria but I've never seen a mess like this before. Has anyone on here ever seen anything...

    Wheat beer and No Head

I kegged and force carbed, I threw a bit of extra pressure on it last night and its more carbonated today and with better head. I guess I was just over eager to get drinking it. Will leave it a little longer an try hold off drinking it. But dam its tasty, which is a good compliant to have...

    Wheat beer and No Head

So as it says above, Ive brewed a wheat beer, my first all grain and there is essentially no head on it. It got 6lbs of wheat, 6lb 2-Row and 1lb of Vienna. I did a no sparge mash and all looked well, gravity came out at 1.064 so I brought it down to 1.058 for a more manageable brew. F.G came in...

What are you drinking right now?

What are you drinking right now?

I'm drinking my very first All Grain. A wheat beer with just citra hops (Thank you JMcNamara) and it is beautiful. Drinks like a session beer but its 6.5%. Already able to feel that. One unusual thing but that's for a post on another thread. The beer is good and therefore all things related are...

    No Secondary For Wheat Beer?

I'll argue jerky is relevant, whats better than a cold homebrew and some homemade jerky after a day of brewing.

    No Secondary For Wheat Beer?

I always thought the secondary was for clarity and since wheat is cloudy already maybe not necessary. I'm thinking of trying another wheat tomorrow and see how things turn out. Was going to try 5lb wheat, 2lb Maris Otter, 1lb Vienna, 1lb Victory and 1lb Pilsner. With Cascade and Willamette...

    No Secondary For Wheat Beer?

So as the title suggests Im looking to see what the consensus is on secondary fermentation for a wheat beer. I see online a lot say that once wheat beer is done fermenting get it ready for drinking as wheat beers are bet when young. I ask because I racked my first all grain into the secondary...

    Intertap or Perlick

Dont the InterTap taps have a similar forward valve seal design? According to their ads they are supposed to be an improvement over Perlick but then again what else would they say?

First All Grain Batch Under My Belt

I saw another SMaSH recipe with Maris Otter so Im leaning that way for the grain. But when it comes to Hops, Im like a goat looking into a helicopter. I haven a bloody clue what going on in there. Im thinking 10lbs Maris Otter and Cascade Hops. 0.5oz@45mins, 1oz@15 and 0.5oz@5mins with a...

First All-Grain Batch, What do I do?

That sounds like a reasonable idea. I've already finished my first all-grain but from another post Im thinking of doing a SMaSH brew for my next. Maybe brewing it a few times over to get a feel for things is a good idea. Thanks for the idea.

    Intertap or Perlick

So Im looking at upgrading my beer tower. I currently have a single faucet tower and with 2 kegs usually on the go its getting a bit annoying changing from one to the other when my mood dictates one beer over the other. So Im wondering what experience people have had with either of these two...
