    Gyle/Speise

    If I freeze my gyle primer until I need it to bottle my brew , is it still necessary to boil it first and then cool it before adding it to the bottling bucket or can I just defrost and go?

    Carbonation calculator

    When I prime my bottled beer by speise/gyle I set aside approx 1.5Litres to prime approx 18 litres. This ratio works perfect for me. But if I want to find out what this is in terms of Volumes of CO2 how do I do that? :oops:

    Pasteurising?

    Is it fair to say i have pasteurised my brew simply because I have boiled the wort and cooled it down quickly with an Immersion chiller? (ie excessive heat and rapid cooling). Or is pasteurising a process to rid a liquid of yeast and so it comes after fermenting?
