My dad Charlie taught me there's a few different types of good beer:
A good cold beer is awfully nice, and a good warm beer will do if a cold one's not available, but the best beer of all is a free beer!
I have one in the fermenter - I call it "NOLA Breakfast Stout" - it's an American Stout flavored with Café DuMonde (coffee and chicory). I have no idea if it will be any good. I'm a novice and this is my first "home grown" recipe.
Since I ferment in a plastic bucket, I use a 1/4" poly tube inserted into the single rubber grommet that penetrates the lid. After fermentation slows down I pull out the tube and insert the standard airlock into the grommet.
