I had planned on brewing last night. However, due to sick kids and other non beer drinking related things I was unable to get out there. So here is the issue:

I "brewed" up my yeast starter on Saturday afternoon. It's been sitting on my stir plate since and looks ok to me. How long can I leave a starter going? Can I use it today? Should I discard and use something else?

Thanks for any help.

The yeast in a starter will normally use up all the sugar in the starter wort in 36-48 hours. After that three days I normally put mine in the fridge to help settle out the yeast so I can decant off the spent wort. Put it in the fridge an you should be fine.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback.
