So I’m not sure if this is an computer or human error on my part. I upgraded to a Fusion 15 brewing system and I’ve had a hard time dialing in my efficiency to get Brewer’s Friend to work well.

I have my equipment profile with 2.5 quarts Kettle dead space and 1.1 quarts misc. losses. 4% wort cooling shrinkage.

My boil off rate is 6 qt per hour.

So I would think that the software would take into account my Kettle dead space and miscellaneous losses (pump and plate chiller) to calculate my final estimated gravity. The quick water requirements does this but the recipe generator does not. It is showing a pre-boil gravity of 1.032 and a Original Gravity of 1.047. With a 60 minute boil and my kettle loses the Original Gravity should be 1.040. Instead since I have the boil size of 7.4 gallons and batch size set to 5 gallons it is assuming I’m boiling 2.4 gallons which gives you an Original Gravity of 1.047.

I can change my Fermentor volume to 5.9 gallons to correct this problem but it seems like the software should be doing this for me!

Also, when you change the fermentor volume to 5.9 gallons to correct the gravity issue it then changes all of the water volumes in the Quick Water Requiment calculator.
