Was asked recently to provide a keg of homebrew for a Christmas party. Cath is that I'll have about 18-21 days to get it ready. Anybody have something thats kinda mild, proven, and quick to turn around? Last year I brought a stout which people drank but most commented that it was darker than what they normally drink. I was thinking maybe something more mainstream this year like an amber or maybe even a Pale with the IBUs on the lower end of the style range.

Anybody? Bueller?

American Hefe's turn around fast, drinkable as soon as they are carbed. You can have beer in 21 days.

QHB - I'd avoid the Kolsch yeast for this time frame. It takes several weeks to a couple months for it to clean itself up in my experience. Tastes bad when green.

yes didn't see that, you can use any yeast with that recipe for a light beer

getting ready to brew the Belgian Witbier myself right now

gotta go with larry on the hefe's. Several good recipe's listed in Brewer's Friend Recipes.
