Beer for Christmas

That Smurtos is one of the most brewed recipes in Australia , I use extra Rye and bump up the IBUs to make my house pale .

Depending which version you brew it really is a very approachable beer for those either new to craft beer or just mainstream drinkers flirting with craft beer
Out of interest what recipe you using on that one ?
Had to alter slightly due to brew store availability
2 lb Pilsner malt
.7 lb Victory
.7 lb Rye

.33 Amarillo gold 60 min
20 min
0 min
(for a 2 gallon recipe)
 
Should be a tasty drop !
I'd not thought of using victory instead of my usual munich and crystal (carapils ) but it should balance out well
Amarillo and rye play nice together
What yeast are you using ?
 
I did some research and based on the description it sounded like a good pick! My lhbs is just opening so it has limited product. I can't wait to see it grow. I'll certainly support it! I'm using Muntons active brewing yeast. I used it on my last brew and it was the best tasting stuff I've had so far. (not saying because of the yeast) but I'm willing to give it some more tests. Any opinions on it?
