Bread Thread!

Biscuits and Gravy for Breakfast today...used starter disgards and a 3:1 ratio of white flour to SBG flour to make the 1 cup of flour in the recipe...this actually gave the biscuits a sweet quality that was not in the ones I made the other day....

Looks interesting! I have a sourdough loaf rising now - benefits of working from home and using a bread machine. No worries, I did let my levain ferment overnight.

A sourdough boule I did today. Starter isn't very tart but the bread is delicious. View attachment 9393
Just wonderful.
I recon home made bread aint far behind homemade beer in the satisfaction category:).

Looking to get my bake on this evening ive got two balls proofing in the fridge as i type.
One will be a standard loaf the other im looking at rolling out like a pizza dough then adding some fillings like pesto sauce sliced ham and some chunks of cheese then rolling it up and baking it.
Never done something like that before but worth a try me thinks;)

Heres how the bake went.

i spread out the bread and went pesto sauce bacon and vintage cheddar cheese.

Folded it over itself.

Gave it an egg wash and got all fancy with some sesame seeds and chia seeds on top.
I baked it 200c 30mins in that oiled pan.

Turned out beaut.
Its a rich savory bread quite filling

Lucky that's the only injury you got. Any time I work near my wife, I seriously consider wearing a cup :)
