to stop the haze you have to do an acid wash, so I just use star-sans if that happens and yes pbw is better than oxiclean for brewing with stainless, for pbw to work correctly it has to be heated
hot water and a green scubbie does wonders, a good hot soak with pbw is next, lots of scrubbing when the brown haze shows up, it will come off eventually
There's a video out from years ago where a group used an ice fishing hole up north, used that water and brewed it on site, I think it was northern brewer
I have hard well water now with a lot of magnesium, it actually makes a great stout just on its own no salts added so your on the right track, as far as cave water it should be similar to spring water, boiling should be fine
most of these all-in ones are relatively the same size, I use 2.5 for my water grain ratio, that gives me just a couple of gallons or so to clean off some of the grain in the raised basket for a 6.5 gallon batch at around 5%
I've opted out of all entertainment packages, saving a bunch of money so all I have if free tv stuff and most are reruns, but it's ok I've been watching my sci-fi stuff like all Stargate type stuff
I've talked to several people that have lost their drive all together, I have a mountain of things I can be doing other than work and I just don't feel like it so I can relate
